Amy Howard

Having fallen in love with riding as a child on her grandparent’s NJ farm, Amy Howard, owner of AHD LLC, has been committed to riding her entire life.  A graduate of Delaware Valley College, (Equine Science 1999) and the Hartpury College (Gloucester England) externship program (British Horse Society Exams stages 1,2 and 3) she decided to pursue teaching and professional riding exclusively in 2001, mentoring under Nancy Polozker.  Amy coached and groomed Nancy’s Grand Prix horses, traveling to Canada, training with Neil and Cindy Ishoy, and served as her eyes on the ground throughout the freestyle championships in Miami FL 2002 where Nancy was long listed for the US Olympic team.

Amy competed on the Dutch Indy in PSG on the Wellington Circuit, Qualifying for Dressage at Devon in 2003, where she met Marcel Timmermans.  After Marcel found Nancy’s next inter-2 partner, Daydream, at Pattrick Kittel’s stable, Marcel and Amy found their common belief in the holistic care and improvement of both horse and rider made for a strong foundation to become partners finding and training horses for FEI level competitions in the Tri-State and Willington, FL areas.

Amy began showing much success developing and competing young Dutch Warmbloods, including Update, through PSG, Rozenstein, through PSG, Zamiro through 4th level and Wilhardy, through 4th Level.  Since then Amy has competed throughout NJ, NY, PA and FL, on a variety of horses she has developed, including: Pastorale to the PSG Inter 1 with an average score of 66%, Avante Garde to PSG level, and Zamiro winning the Captain Elwood E Geissler Perpetual Memorial Tropy for high score 3rd level at the Garden State Classic. Ultra Light was hugely successful in the 4th level at Dressage at Devon 2014. Amy took Avant Garde in the Developing Horse PSG in 2015 with some top scores in the 70's ending 15th in the country. Currently Amy is bringing along two horses, Floris and Florelli. Floris is competing 3rd level with scores to  70%. Florellis is 2018 Region 8 reserve champion first level and ranked reserve champion KPWN horses in US and 9th over all horse of the year. In 2020 Florelli is scoring 70% in the third level and is 3rd USDF horse of the year at 3rd level as well as Champion KWPN-NA 3rd level. Florelli is preparing for his 4th level season 2021.

2023 Ego and Amy Howard had great success in the GP with scores to 69%.
